Biography
I'm an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Meteorology and Hydrology, Arba Minch Water Technology Institute, Arba Minch University (AMU), Ethiopia. I'm lecturing in the area of agricultural meteorology, meteorology and air quality in both graduate and post-graduate programs. I supervise graduate thesis in the area weather/climate and their impact on argiculture, air-quality and water resources both in Ethiopia and some European countries. I'm a co-leader of the AMU-IUC project (Reducing land degradation through and for sustainable rural land use in the south Ethiopian rift valley). It is AMU-Belgian Universities consortium which sponsored the education of nearly 20 PhD. students to study in Belgium and to work researches in Ethiopia. I also manage the Gamo Ethiopian Meteorological Stations (GEMS) network. The network operates >10 automatic weather stations in the Gamo Highlands, Ethiopia. In addition, I offer training for Ethiopian Universities in the area of large data analysis using Python and research methods.
