  • Biography
    In 1991, Anisha received her Bachelor’s degree in biology at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC. She earned a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences with a concentration in food microbiology from Wayne State University, Detroit, MI, in 1998. Anisha has more than sixteen years of experience in higher education. In 2008, while at Bowie State University, she became the principal investigator of a five-year, $12.4 million Math Science Partnership grant awarded by the National Science Foundation. As a result of the grant, Anisha developed two community outreach programs at the middle- and high school levels in collaboration with Prince George’s County Public Schools that focused on increasing the participation of underrepresented groups in STEM.
