Innovator Max Polyakov and Firefly Aerospace: New Space is Available for Everybody

Max Polyakov

The Firefly Aerospace program DREAM (The Dedicated Research and Education Accelerator Mission) inducted by Max  Polyakov company calls for people of different ages who have a passion for space to enter into the open competition. The program aims to fast-track the efficiency of training and science research.

The organizers accept all kinds of ideas from a kid's painting to a project by a young startup. The most innovative project in its category walks away with the most possessed prize – a maiden trip on board of a rocket Firefly Alpha.

The principal purpose of the program is to foster and inspire STEM (Science, technology, Engineering, Mathematics) in young learners in a bid to promote careers and develop the space industry.

Deborah James, a member of the Advisory Council of Firefly, noted the DREAM project is a channel for companies in the space industry to grow talents in the future, which was detrimental to rapid technology development in Ukraine. He also added that the mission was core in accelerating the interest of young people.

The organizers will finish the selection of applicants, on the 30th of June and announce winners afterward. Max Polyakov suggests that school graduates and young learners need to be steps ahead in technology and engineering. STEM helps to foster the growth of the scientific disciplines, which is a modern and popular educational strategy. Polyakov also notes with concern that highly qualified engineers play a crucial role in space research and projects.

Firefly's rocket Alpha purposes commerce and scientific use once it’s launched. Max Polyakov commits to deliver six satellites to the partner Airbus to low earth orbit. In light of stimulating STEM, students from the Firefly Academy received an invitation to Alpha testing sessions. The students could not hide the thrill and excitement that the DREAM project offered them.

Firefly is a relatively new company that was established five years ago and is already on the list of 20 leading private aerospace companies. Although the company was almost closed due to bankruptcy, the project received back-up from investors, including Max Polyakov Investment Fund Noosphere Ventures and Donald Trump Investment, which gave a fund of 4.2 billion dollars for the project.

As Firefly prepares to launch Firefly Alpha, Polyakov’s company maps to conduct eight flights annually, which will increase to 24 after the construction of a factory in Florida.
