Let’s get in the spirit of Halloween with these TV shows

Halloween is just around the corner and the time to binge-watch your favorite shows has finally arrived. Everywhere you turn, you’ll see people putting up Halloween decorations, but is that all? Of course, the decorations are great, but let’s face it, if there is one thing that can really help us get in the spirit of Halloween, then that is definitely some TV shows and movies which fulfill every criterion of being terrifying, nail-biting and worthy of watching during the season of ghosts and ghouls.

If you think that by scary shows we only meant Walking Dead or Supernatural, then allow us to expand your ‘spook’ horizon a bit more and let us help you add more scary shows to your watch-list. So, if you are ready to feel the Halloween ‘feels’, then come along with us as we take you down the spooky road:

1.Mirror Mirror

If you have a thing for Steven Spielberg’s genius execution, then Mirror Mirror is the one you should not miss. Of course, Steven Spielberg is known for his unmatchable anthology and Mirror Mirror is where the sci-fi genius really puts you on the edge of your couch. The story is brought to life by the ever-so-genius Martin Scorsese. It is absolutely intriguing to see how Scorsese steers the plot which revolves around a writer, who has written about horror so much in his life, that he begins hallucinating and seeing things from his writings. The show picks up a gradual pace and takes the audience through a number of twists, turns and bumps along the way!

2.Angel

If you’re a Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan then you’re going to love its spin-off. The show revolves around Cordelia and a ghost that haunts her apartment. In the beginning, things might seem to you as boring, but it is after a few episodes when you’ll notice the show getting somewhere. What’s good about this spin-off is that the creators have experimented with different themes that have added to the overall ‘spook’ element of the show.

3.Black Mirror

If you’re into thriller shows that screw with your mind with a whole other story every other episode, then Black Mirror is the show for you. You simply cannot predict what the next episode. Is it a psychological thriller that will mess with your mind or a hardcore horror spectacle that will creep your pants off? You just do not know. And this show makes sure that you are prepared for literally anything. Be sure to add Black Mirror to the top of your watch-list.

4.The Vampire Diaries

Nothing can beat a good old classic like The Vampire Diaries. The show was laid to rest in 2017, which gave its fans another reason to stock up on its episodes and binge watch it to their hearts’ content. Although it took a while for Vampire Diaries to go from been there, done that teen drama, to something with a bolder approach; fans can never get tired of watching Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev, entangled in their fictitious supernatural world of pure violence and drama.

5.Slasher

If you can manage to sit through a show which has some pretty disturbing killings, then Slasher should be the next one on your watch-list. Okay, first of all, let’s just overlook the fact that this show is straight-up gruesome and violent, and shed some light on the plot. The plot basically revolves around the character of Katie McGrath, who returns to her hometown where her parents were brutally murdered, the night she was born. Subsequent to her arrival, strange things begin to happen in the town again. There is a series of killings and turns out ‘The Executioner’ is back and killing people if they are seen violating any of the seven deadly sins. Sounds pretty intriguing, right? With just enough secrets and twists, this show will really get you into the true spirit of Halloween.

6.American Horror Story

If you are good with TV shows where the plot and cast keep on changing then American Horror Story is the one you cannot miss! The way American Horror Story paces and how it goes from seemingly normal-looking everything to demons and gargoyles, is something that keeps its audience hooked.

7.Harper’s Island

Another TV show that should be on your watch-list is Harper’s Island. The show is packed with gruesome murders one after the other and the way these murders are inventive and emotionally wracking, that just keeps the audience sitting on the edge of the couch. Although in the beginning, you might feel like the show is rather slow but as soon as the show picks up its stride, you wouldn’t want it to slow down. Each murder in the show unveils a new mystery which is sure to keep you hitting that ‘next episode’ button again and again.

8.Supernatural

The show aired for 10 years and its fans still haven’t been able to get over the fact that it has ended. Supernatural revolves around Winchester brothers who make their living by keeping alive their old family business, i.e. hunting ghosts, demons, and monsters. What really keeps the plot moving is their battle against the evil forces and how they survive through it. Although you might’ve heard that some of the Supernatural seasons lacked the oomph which its initial seasons had, but that doesn’t mean you can’t watch the old ones where the twists and turns really kept the audience enticed.
