  • Biography
I am an associate professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences at Purdue University. I'm also the director of undergraduate studies there.

My research asks the question of how young infants acquire their first language. This includes both how they hear and remember the words of their native language; their understanding of how what they see can be segmented into meaningful objects, actions, and events; and the process by which young infants learn to connect these two.

I've also been working on a new theory called Developmental Learning Theory, which examines the process of moving from novice to expert. This theory asks how we can apply what we know about language learning to expert learning more generally: Parlez vous Psychology?
