The main objective of LASER PULSE is to facilitate successful translation of research to products, practices, or policies so as to provide useful solutions to development challenges. This approach will generate early results and help ensure buy-in from local communities, government, USAID implementers, and private stakeholders. This R4D Conference will bring together LASER PULSE Higher Education Network partner researchers; development practitioners, including donors and selected NGO implementers; and government, private sector, and community leaders.
Basic education, food security, maternal/child healthcare, and water are the specific sectors addressed at this event. Considering the varying regional contexts, participants will identify a ‘universal suite of factors’ tied to translational success to help refine and scale up development solutions. Conference attendees will also engage in creating strategic partnerships towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in different regions of the world.
