Learn the spectrum of community involvement in research projects and how to engage local communities as stakeholders. Through an example in safe urban gardening, learn to create partnerships that are mutually beneficial, reflective of local knowledge, bi-directional in benefits, and sustainable over time.

Objectives:

  2. Learn how to avoid the common obstacles to building sustained and powerful partnerships
  3. Explore several examples of longer-term partnerships, and how they developed and evolved to fit circumstances on the ground
