Ready to make a splash? Pick your Pebble and get started. What is a Pebble? Our Pebbles are the various Citizen Science projects hosted throughout the site. Within each Pebble you will find a description for that particular project and a set of interactive tools and content devoted to the project topic. We are currently in our alpha testing phase and we only have one pebble for you to work on, but more will be coming online soon. Glacier track Glaciers leave a curious trail behind. We need your help to track their movements. Become a Glacier Tracker. A team at Purdue University is on the hunt for moraines – tracks left behind from moving glaciers. These tracks share climate information that scientists can use to help understand the current climate change. However, we live in a big world and the scientists need your help in finding and marking these moraines. Utilizing Google Earth technology we have developed a project where you can help track glacier movements and spot existing moraines. The team will be able to use this gathered information to plan their next excursion and continue to monitor the Earth’s changing climate. Watch the tutorial videos and learn about moraines and how to enter your findings. Pick an area of interest – Currently researchers are focusing their search in Central Asia, but you can track them anywhere in the world with Google Earth. Get tracking!
