• Biography

  Argaw Ambelu is a Professor of Environmental Health and Ecology at Jimma University. He has obtained his Batchelor degree in Environmental Health from Jimma University, MSc and PhD in Environmental Sanitation and Applied Biological Sciences from Ghent University. His research and teaching focus on Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WaSH); Environmental Health, Environmental microbiology; Aquatic Ecology; Water and Wastewater Treatment Technologies; Environmental Pollution and Prevention, Resilience Measurement and Climate Change and Health. Argaw is leading different research projects related to Environmental Microbiology, Childhood Diarrhea, Environmental contamination with microbial drug-resistant pathogens, Biodiversity, Resilience Studies, Pesticide Impacts. He has supervised and co-supervised more than 25 PhD candidates at Jimma and Addis Ababa Universities. He has authored and co-authored more than 93 scientific papers in international peer-reviewed journals.
